Dr Chalmers Path to Pro - Peptides for Anti-Aging and Skin
Peptides can be a helpful tool for supporting skin health, healing, and overall wellness. Some types boost the body’s natural growth hormone, which can improve collagen production, help with recovery after injuries or surgery, and support healthy joints and tissues. They’re often used for anti-aging and can be a good option for people dealing with everyday aches or slow healing.
There are also peptides that help with tanning, like Melanotan II, which can reduce the risk of sunburn for people who don’t get much sun. Copper peptides (GHK-Cu) are used for hair growth and general skin support. GLP-1s may help with weight loss and resetting the body’s systems, but they need to be used carefully to avoid long-term issues. Used the right way, peptides can be a great addition to a wellness routine.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:04] Um, so I was asked by a patient the other day about, uh, peptides for longevity and growth and stuff like that skin. And when we're talking about the different options that people have, um, one of the things that we can do for anti-aging, that kind of helps long-term function is just a little bit of that. It's trick or gogs for the, uh growth hormone. We a little of the growth hormone, um kind of every night or every other night and helps. Slow down the aging process because your body regenerates and heals a little bit faster. Um, so, you know, if you're using some more than or if I'm more than, or CJC or the one that I liked the most is the some more on if I more than as a little but short acting in a longer acting, um, function to it. Um. So just a little of that kind of every night, or like I said, every other night kind of really helps, you know, increase college and formation and helps regenerate tissue, ligaments, tendons, bones, helps heal. One of the things we use that particular one for, um, is healing regeneration. So I've told the story lots of times that my office manager, Rachel, took a softball of the face and broke her eye in nine places and that of surgery and, uh, the orbit for her eye, not the actual eye, but the damage to that side of her face. They thought that she was going to lose her eye and they thought that she might not be able to smile again because the way it damaged the facial nerves down here. Um, and so we use a series of peptides, um. We use the, the LR three, we used, uh, some more of more than, uh. To kind of reset and regrow all ligaments and tendons and nerves and what bones in her face. Um, and now you can't tell full function of the eye, full function of mouth. It's fantastic.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:01:43] So as far as healing goes, post-surgical pre-surgical, like if you guys are going to have surgery, I highly recommend that you get your testosterone levels up first for about two, three weeks beforehand, and then about a week beforehand, start on the growth For more information, visit www.mooji.org Since your body is amped up and ready to heal, regenerate, repair. So that when you have the massive trauma that is surgery, like people don't recognize something of it, like we just all watch surgery. It's just a thing. Like someone's literally cutting you open and most likely screwing things into your bones. Wild amounts of trauma, substantial amounts of trauma. You need to heal from it. And so getting your healing hormones up, your growth hormone, your testosterone up should be primary function. That should be like the first thing all surgeons do. Is be like, Hey, all right, we're going to have, we'll do surgery in 10 days. Here's your testosterone. Here's, your growth hormones go out and get ready to do this surgery. So we do, but that's what we should be doing. Um, right now, my, uh, receptionist, Amanda broke her foot and we're regenerating it the same way. Um, and she went from, like, you can see the break health. We're going post the X-rays later. Um, but it was one of those, like even without being able to read X-Rays very well, you're like, Oh, that's probably not supposed to be like that. And so she was hobbling around like on a, like one of those peg leg things for about a week and now she's walking on it. So we'll post those a little bit. Uh, but you know, as far as healing regeneration repair goes, those are phenomenal peptides for, for healing regeneration. So, um, those are fantastic. The, the, those are the growth hormones secreting peptides.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:03:20] Like I said, they can use easily be used for anti-aging and things like that. You know, if you've got issues with your knee where you don't really need your shoulder or your hands where you really need surgery, but they're irritating all the time or like when you're lifting, you're like, Oh man, this spot in my shoulders, give me a grief. Lots of times the growth hormone peptides will help regenerate and heal that spot. So those are phenomenal ones to start looking at bringing in. If you're, if he had those issues. Um, the other one, so I was talking to somebody about tanning the other day. Cause they asked me like, do you tan? I'm like, yeah, I lay out like whenever I can, like yesterday I got home. It was five 30, the sun was out. It was nice. So I went ahead and laid outside and then I did some grounding, something like that. Uh, and people ask me about burning. They're like, well, what do you do for your kids and for you so that you don't get sunburned? And like, I go out in the sun all the time so that I build up a tan so that they don't burn. The idea that, well, how come we didn't get skin cancer a hundred years ago? Cause we were always in the sun. Like if, if as soon as it gets warm enough to be in the son, you take your shirt off and you're in the Sun, you're going to start getting a little bit more tan and a little bit, more tan, a little more tan. So you build up the ability to not be burnt. Uh, we don't do that as much anymore. And we should Find a time to go home and get out in the sun. It's not for vanity, it's for health. It's keeping your skin healthy. Now, if you are in one of those positions where you can't go outside very often, but you still want some darkening in your skin, the peptides melatonin-2 is a great peptide for increasing the melanocytes in your scan or basically darkening your skin with the injection. Works really, really well. Sometimes works too well.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:05:05] My, uh, my wife is Arab. When I was testing it out and doing it, she came home finally. And she was like, okay, you're darker than I am. You need to stop. I was like. Um, so it does work, especially on super white guys. Uh, the problem you get into a little bit with them a lot. Is that sometimes your body has spots that doesn't have a lot of melanin in it or the peptide for some reason just doesn't bring the melanin to that one little speck. Uh, and so you end up with kind of white dots on your body. Uh, same type of thing that you'd see if you. Tanned really well and that you just had some pigment spots. Um, but that is something that you can see with the one. So, you know, it's one of those things to kind of take that into account as you start tanning, um, kind of look at where those spots are. Sometimes getting in the sun will help those. But here's the thing. If you haven't been in the son for a while, let's say it's winter and you're having been in a sun for a. While, and you are using a lot of melatonin because you want to get ready for a or something. And then you stop taking them a lot, men like, or you keep taking it like through your trip. Let's say you go to Mexico, right? Let's see it's spring break or it's June or something. You're like, Oh, I'm so white. I'm going to be in this bathing suit. I don't want to be so white, you know, or I want to get darker so that I don' burn as bad, whichever one, and you take them a lot in for a while and then you go out in the sun, you're going to tan a lot more. So keep that in mind, because a lot of times when you start adding these things you need to recognize. What is going to happen with my life? That's also going to add to this. So a lot of times I'm a lot and can do that. So keep that in mind when you're doing those two things, uh, there's a couple other ones, uh that help with tell me your length, uh just blanked on the name of it. Um,.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:06:56] Anyway, uh, I'll drop it in the comments later, but it, it helps. It helps it's here. Merrily now there's, there's an idea. I'm saying it's an idea because I don't think it's been fully proven out yet, but there's an ideal that Tiramel Tiram Tilo mirror length has a direct correlation to, um, longevity and how long you can live and how healthy your cells are and things like that. So as those telomeres, as you, as every time the idea again, is that as your cells replicate, the telomere is getting a little bit shorter each time and as they get shorter, they can't transcribe themselves again as Well, I'll see you next time. And so that's kind of how your body kind of deteriorates and dies. I think it's a good theory. I, it might, it might be bare out. I don't know how much I, I don' know how I buy it. Um, I think one of the reasons that the tail mirrors get shorter is because we're not giving the body of the chemicals it needs and it has too many of the chemicals that doesn't want. So basically what's going on is that we have too many toxins and not enough nutrients. Uh, I think that's really where we're seeing the damage in the DNA. And until we rectify that part, you know, the idea that You know, just this natural function is destroying us. I, I don't want to lean into, um, because I think we're, we're. I think they were leaning way too hard into our bodies are built to, you know, built wrong, then we're doing bad things to them. So I think that that's, that's where a lot of this, this issue comes in, but we'll see kind of as we start developing out these ideas, we'll say where that goes. Uh, but as far as these peptides go, um. The other one that I like, cause it increases oxygenation of the tissue. So it's going to help with. All sorts of things is, uh, the copper peptide, the GHK, uh CU that one.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:08:44] So if you're using it for hair loss, I like the gel that goes on the scalp. Um, if you using it, for general health, the injection's fine. Um, the pills will work. I mean, the bills are fine, but I'm a bigger fan of the injections for all over function and on the scale for specifically for hair growth. So, uh if you guys are looking for those, that's the way to go on that one And then, uh. Yeah. The big thing that other people would need to know about since we're going through just all the peptides is one of the big things with the semi glue tides or the GLP ones is that remember that if you're going to use them for a purpose, like breaking diabetes or helping with dementia or resetting your bio, your biochemical functions that you can lose some weight now and get back on track. They're great. You know, six to 10 weeks. Fantastic. Awesome. The problem, a lot of people are getting into that. I don't think they know it yet. Is that when you take a GLP one, there's a chance of what's called hyperplasia instead of hypertrophy of fat cells. What that means is hypertrophy. They get bigger. Hyperplasia is they split up into multiple different fat cells, the problem we get into with hyperplasia is that it's very beneficial at the beginning.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:09:53] So we're trying to break insulin resistance for trying to reset the You know, get everything functioning again, cutting these fat cells down can be beneficial to that process. The problem is, is that. If you take one big fat cell and make it into two smaller fat cells, you look smaller. That's great. Once you get off, if you go back to the diet, they got you fat in the first place, which most people are going to do. These fat cells now can grow. And so a lot of people, I think that they're putting themselves into position where they're going to end up either always having to be on the drug or they're going to get a lot fatter afterwards. So if you want to use the GLP ones to push yourself into biochemical position where can be beneficial, lose that stuff kind of reset. Great. Do it fantastic. Have somebody walk you through it. If you don't understand how to do it, but the idea of, Oh, I'll just take this. And then if I get fat again, I'd take it again. I wouldn't, I would not walk down that road. That is not a great road to walk down. Uh, if you guys have any questions, drop in the comments or hit us up questions at Charmerswellness.com. Thanks for your time. Have a great day.
